The Prosecutor’s Office in Colombia reported today, February 4, 2024, that José Orlando Buitrago Rodríguez (known as “Tito El Borracho”) and Mauricio Hernando Pinilla Figueroa (alias “Mauro”) were captured in Cundinamarca and Antioquia.  They are reportedly wanted for extradition by authorities in Peru and the United States for trafficking tons of cocaine hydrochloride.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Tito El Borracho was reportedly “involved in the departure of large shipments of narcotics.”

His organisation allegedly produced cocaine in the Catatumbo region (Norte de Santander) and transported it to Venezuela.  The shipments were then sent by sea to the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, and the United States.

He reportedly used his network to “launder the proceeds of drug trafficking through electronic transfers made from Asia.”

He was captured in a joint action by the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking and the National Police, with support from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in Villeta (Cundinamarca).

The United States wants him for extradition.

Regarding “Mauro,” he was allegedly part of a group that transported cocaine from Colombia to Peruvian territory and later transferred it to European countries.

He is wanted for extradition by Peru.
