The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said that just before 4:30 am on Saturday, March 23, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles, which took place on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Beach Bay Road. It is believed that one vehicle collided with a light pole, and a second vehicle came upon the scene and then collided with the disabled vehicle that had just been involved in the previous accident.

One of the vehicles had three occupants, and the other had one occupant. The Cayman Islands Fire Service assisted in extracting all four persons from the vehicles, and all were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Three persons were treated at the hospital later released while the fourth person remains in hospital being treated for what is believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
