Honduras: Mother Arrested For Permitting Rape Of 11-Year-Old Daughter Loop Cayman Islands

Authorities in Honduras reported today, April 4, 2024, that three people, including the mother of an eleven-year-old girl, were arrested after the mother allowed the girl to be sexually abused and raped for over six months. 

The authorities explained that, “According to the investigations, the mother of the 11-year-old minor, along with her partner, who is the minor’s stepfather, received a motor vehicle and cash monthly, for allowing the now arrested man to sexually abuse the minor.”

The authorities added:

At the time of his arrest, the following evidence was seized:

– 01 automotive vehicle, Hyundai brand, gray color

– 03 cell phone, of different brands

– 01 Samsung tablet, gray

The arrests and seizures were made by the Special Crimes Department of the Police Investigation Directorate (DPI) with the support of the National Directorate of Prevention and Community Security in Jutiapa, Danlí, El Paraíso after a formal complaint was received.

It is understood that the minor is now under the protective care of the Secretariat of Children, Adolescents and Family authorities.

Her mother, stepfather and man who raped her are being charged for continuous aggravated rape.

Commenting on the arrests, the authorities said, “The National Police, through the DPI, reaffirm their commitment to continue working, with the aim of arresting individuals who commit sexual crimes in the country.”
