Belize launches 2026-2030 Definitive Stamp Collection

BELMOPAN, Mon. July 20, 2026

   Belize’s culture, biodiversity and national identity are taking center stage through the country’s newest definitive stamp collection. On Friday, July 17, the Belize Postal Service, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy and Logistics, officially launched the 2026–2030 Belize Definitive Stamp Collection under the theme, “Celebrating Belize.”

   The collection, which will remain in circulation for the next five years, features 11 stamps highlighting various aspects of Belize’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, national symbols and traditions. The stamps will be used on mail destined for both local and international destinations, serving as miniature ambassadors of the country around the world. Minister of Public Utilities, Energy and Logistics, Michel Chebat said the new series reflects the diversity and vibrancy of Belize.

   “The theme they selected this year was an amazing one, ‘Celebrating Belize’, and as you can see from these 11 stamps that they selected, it really depicts every aspect of our culture, our country and our events. These stamps serve as ambassadors across the world for us. It gives you a sense of pride, from the La Ruta Maya, to the tapestry, to the kids, it really depicts life across Belize and how we interact and how we live,” affirmed Minister Chebat

   Postmaster General Dr. Marsha Price explained that the designs were carefully selected by a committee tasked with creating a collection that tells Belize’s story through imagery.

   “We have a committee to come together with different ideas to see what it will feature this year, so it took some time. Everybody had their idea of what they wanted to see featured in this stamp highlight. We came up with different events in Belize. It’s something new; it’s different. We wanted to be different, and we wanted something grand for this 2026 definitive feature. These stamps are used to send mails worldwide, so the image tells a whole story. So we wanted stamps that make people understand the history of Belize,” she said.

   The launch also marked a proud moment for a number of Belizean photographers, including Brandon Cayetano. Cayetano, who has served as the official photographer for the Queen of the Bay pageant for the past five years. He said that seeing his photograph featured on a national stamp was both an honor and a personal milestone. “It feels exciting, especially since it’s on the $10.00. It’s a lot of excitement, and I am looking forward to seeing the stamp everywhere.”

   The 2026–2030 Definitive Stamp Collection is expected to promote Belize’s rich heritage to audiences around the globe, while preserving elements of the country’s history, culture and identity through one of the world’s oldest forms of communication.
