BELIZE CITY, Wed. Apr. 29, 2026

Belize City police acted swiftly to apprehend two men suspected of carrying out an armed robbery at a vape store on Daly Street around 6:15 on Monday evening, April 27.

The officers had been notified of the incident by Dylan Vasquez, 28, the shop attendant at the establishment

Vasquez told police that two gunmen, wearing motorcycle helmets and dressed in what appeared to be police camouflage uniforms, robbed him at gunpoint as he stood behind the counter of the store. One of the robbers went behind the counter and emptied the cash register, also grabbing two dozen disposable vapes.

The men then escaped on their motorcycle, but police gave chase and apprehended them and recovered the stolen items and cash near the gas station on Freetown Road. The suspects had been armed with two loaded 9mm pistols, one of which contained 10 live rounds of ammunition in its magazine and the other 9 rounds.    The two suspects, Kenroy Amani Daly, 27, and Ahkeem Rashawn Danderson, 26, were remanded to the Belize Central Prison until June 26, after they both pled not guilty to charges of robbery, impersonating a police officer, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, April 28.  Daly was also charged with aggravated assault.
