The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service reported that on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Gregg Sowder, a 64-year-old American citizen, passed away at the Royal Watler Terminal.
According to the police, the man was travelling on a fishing vessel from Panama and stopped in the Cayman Islands. Reportedly, he experienced difficulties and collapsed on the boat. While emergency services were on the way, a Port Authority staff member assisted the man with first aid.
The ambulance transported the man to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased by the attending doctor.
The police are investigating the circumstances of his passing; however, no suspicious circumstances are suspected at this time.
