Police said today that a 28-year-old man of West Bay, who currently resides in Cayman Brac, was arrested for Assault ABH, Possession of an Offensive Weapon and Damage to Property after an incident yesterday, Thursday, February 8.
Police explained that shortly before 12:15 pm yesterday, police responded to a report of an assault with a bladed weapon taking place in the parking lot of a restaurant on South Side Road West, Cayman Brac.
On arriving at the scene, police observed a man on the ground near a vehicle with injuries. A second man, armed with a machete, was acting aggressively towards the man on the ground.
Police arrested the man with the machete and the injured man was transported to Faith Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The injured man was later released.
The matter is currently under investigation, and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any other information is asked to contact the Cayman Brac Police Station at 948-0331.
