A tourist was found unresponsive in the waters near The Baths on Virgin Gorda on March 12, police said Monday.
“Initial inquiries indicate that the deceased was part of a group who swam ashore from a charter vessel when he was later observed floating motionless in shallow water,” according to the Police Information Office.
The man, who police did not identify, was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not provide further information, but they said investigations into the circumstances of the death were ongoing.
