Sunset Soca Wine Festival Returns to Frederiksted, Blending Culture, Cuisine, and Music for MLK Weekend
St. Croix’s west end will once again serve as the backdrop for a major Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend gathering as the Sunset Soca Wine Festival returns to Frederiksted, bringing together wine, food, music, and community along the island’s coastline.
The second-annual festival is scheduled for Sunday, January 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Loops Beach in Frederiksted. Organizers say the event is designed to complement the reflective and communal spirit of MLK Weekend, offering an atmosphere that encourages connection and celebration through culture, flavor, and music.
Set against the natural beauty of the Frederiksted shoreline, the festival blends wine culture with Caribbean culinary offerings and soca music. Guests will spend the afternoon moving through wine tasting stations paired with carefully selected local food offerings, all included as part of a single, immersive experience. Attendees who find particular wines they enjoy will also have the option to purchase select bottles on site.
Music remains a central element of the festival, with DJs Pops, DJ Chubby, and DJ Kimo Dan providing the soundtrack throughout the event. Their selections will feature soca, island classics, and crowd favorites, carrying the energy from the early afternoon through sunset. Organizers describe the atmosphere as relaxed yet vibrant, with conversation, laughter, and music unfolding as the sun sets over the water.
Now in its second year, the Sunset Soca Wine Festival continues to establish itself as a thoughtfully curated experience that brings together residents and visitors alike. Whether attending as part of an MLK Weekend tradition or seeking an authentic island experience, guests are invited to enjoy an environment centered on community, culture, and shared enjoyment.
The event takes place on January 18, 2026, at Loops Beach in Frederiksted. Tickets are currently available through the festival’s official website.
Organizers say the festival is intended to offer more than a tasting experience, creating a moment that reflects the spirit of St. Croix and the joy of coming together during one of the island’s most meaningful weekends.
