The V.I. Department of Education’s St. Thomas-St. John District School Food Authority (SFA) has announced the launch of its 2024-2025 After School Snack Program. The initiative, which will run from January 21, 2025, to May 9, 2025, aims to provide nutritious snacks for children participating in after-school programs in the district.

Applications are now available for the program, which caters to children between the ages of 4 to 18, and up to 21 years for those with special needs. Interested organizations can obtain applications from the SFA office located at #21 Subbase, St. Thomas. Applications for eligible sites will be accepted continuously throughout the program’s duration.

The program seeks to support children’s health, well-being, and ability to focus during after-school activities by ensuring access to balanced and healthy snacks. Eligible after-school programs are encouraged to apply and contribute to the initiative’s mission of promoting energy and concentration among participating students.

For further information or inquiries, program supervisors Bertilia Pacquete and Keithroy Roberts can be contacted at 340-774-0100, extension 8304, or via email at [email protected] and [email protected].

The Department of Education stressed the program’s commitment to equal access. In compliance with federal civil rights laws and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations, the program prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or retaliation for prior civil rights activities.
