In a slight dip from last year, the revised voters list for 2024 includes 16,076 registered voters across the territory’s nine electoral districts, according to the Office of the Supervisor of Elections.

The number is down by 143 from the 2023 revised voters list due to 141 deaths and the removal of two duplicate entries, the office reported last Thursday.

It is also down 30 from the 16,106 on the preliminary voters list published earlier this year.

However, some districts saw an increase in newly registered voters, including 15 in the Sixth; 14 in the Third and Fifth; and 10 in the Eighth.

‘A true reflection’

Supervisor of Elections Scherrie Griffin stressed the importance of maintaining accurate lists and ensuring that any needed amendments are registered with her office.

“The completion and publication of the revised voters list is representative of the Office of the Supervisor of Elections’ commitment to ensuring that the territory’s voter rolls are up to date, and as much as possible is a true reflection of the eligible voting population,” she said. “This can only be achieved through community participation.”

She urged anyone who has moved, changed their marital status, or had any other change to their information listed on the voter roll to get in touch.
People with recently deceased relatives are asked to contact the office as well.

Ms. Griffin also asked voters to view the revised list, which is posted at locations across the territory and accessible online at bvi.gov.vg/elections.
In the coming weeks, the office plans to share additional observations from the new list.
