The newly formed Prospect Primary School Environmental Club and Little Ladies Club joined forces for a cleanup initiative today, April 27, 2024, from 7 am to 9 am in the Poindexter Road neighbourhoods. The cleanup was part of the clubs’ commitment to environmental stewardship and community involvement.

Led by teachers Shawn Harris and Chelsea Solomon, approximately 20 student members and their parents attended the cleanup.

Commenting on the students’ efforts, teacher Shawn Harris said:

Students were excited about the cleanup activity.

They asked many thoughtful questions along the way.

We continue to advocate for a Cleaner, Greener environment.

The cleanup served as a practical way to address environmental concerns and marked the culmination of the Prospect Primary School’s Earth Week activities.

More about the Prospect Primary School Environmental Club

The Prospect Primary School Environmental Club was formed on April 22, 2024.

The students took their pledge during Earth Day assembly and then planted 50 flowers (donated by Vigoro) in the school’s front garden. The Department of Agriculture partnered as well by donating fruit trees that the club members planted on the side of the school building.
