Police Arrest St. Croix Man Following Office Break-In Incident
ST. CROIX — St. Croix patrol officers arrested John Allen, 43, on January 2, charging him with third-degree burglary, destruction of property, and domestic violence, according to a news release from the V.I. Police Department.
VIPD reported that the arrest occurred at approximately 1:21 p.m. after Allen admitted he forcibly opened the doors to an office, damaging the locking mechanisms in the process. Police said Allen then entered a prohibited area to access items inside a storage cabinet that he was not allowed to possess while on the compound.
Following the arrest, VIPD said Allen was booked and processed. No bail was set because the matter was classified as a domestic violence case. As a result, police said he was remanded to the John A. Bell Correctional Facility, pending an Advise of Rights hearing.
