Murder incorporated!

   I am very aware of the titles I pick to headline my columns, mainly because I understand how consequential they are! I try to be discreet and respectful of those headings; but this week I am so angry, all over again, as ICE—that rogue agency that serves, and is only answerable to the Crimson King and his Igor, Stephen Miller, son of immigrants himself—keeps on killing innocents. He must have really been bullied in school to have such a cold heart; and being ugly only increases his passion for cruelty, I believe.

   After Rene Good and Alex Pretti were murdered on the streets of Minneapolis in the dead of winter earlier this year, one would have thought that they gave their lives to save others. The strong rebuke from the public caused DHS to temper its violence against citizens and brown people; if not temper, then they at least tried to be more secretive in profiling and harassing and killing people, especially brown people.

   The murders of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston and Joan Sebastian Duran Guerrero in Maine this month, both of whom were not the actual targets, but who fit the profile, are inexcusable and criminal and cannot be glossed over, or left up to ICE to investigate. The fox guarding the henhouse. They were supposed to be armed with body cameras to support their actions. In both cases they conveniently weren’t wearing them, even though they have a budget of over 70 billion to support their lawlessness all over the country. And again, with no oversight, no state participation in the investigations of these murders! Wat a ting!

   It doesn’t matter if it’s Kristi Noem or Markwayne Mullen at the helm of DHS; the policy is already set in stone, as is the behavior of these rogue, untrained, murderous racists who have no qualms about pumping bullets into you if you are brown, and in the wrong place at the wrong time. James Bond has nothing over these thugs. He had a license to kill, but he is fictional; these killers prowling the streets trying to fill a quota, are real. And “dead or alive” seems to be their mantra.

   The quota set by Miller is 2,000 brown people every day. There is a bounty on the heads of every Latino or foreign-looking person in the streets or in their cars. It doesn’t matter if they are in the country legally or not. If you make a mistake while these unidentified individuals have you in their sights, you will be murdered! This is the time, the society, the country, that we are living in. WTF?

   I grieve for the families of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Joan Sebastian Duran Guerrero, their wives and their children who will never see their loved ones alive again. The people they depended on for love and security and comfort, murdered on their way to do honest work. I grieve for Rene Good and Alex Pretti and the families they left behind, and the void in their hearts that can never be filled, while their killers are still roaming around, looking for their next victims. I grieve for all those who have died in the custody of ICE. I grieve for those who are languishing in concentration camps all over the country. I grieve for the inhumanity of their circumstances. I grieve, I grieve, I grieve.

   This promised land, this land of opportunity, is anything but, right now. Not for those who want a better life, unless you are Afrikaans. They are welcome because they’re white and are going through imagined discrimination in South Africa. This is not the time to be adventurous if you are Latino or from one of those sh*thole countries that our Dear Leader despises. Stay home, or find another haven, another country that will welcome you, as long as you are willing to pursue your dreams. These days those sanctuaries are becoming more and more scarce!

   This lawlessness has to end. This arbitrary killing of innocent people because of their color or nationality has to stop. And the people responsible have to be held accountable for their crimes. From these racist thugs, who are recruited and who carry out their mission with religious-like fervor, to the top of the food chain. They must, and hopefully will all be held accountable, in the end!

   This must not stand!
