The Prosecutor’s Office In Colombia said today, February 8, 2024, that two men, a 48-year-old and a 32-year-old, are going to prison after being arrested and charged for sexual crimes involving an 11-year-old girl and other females under 16-years-old, respectively.

Regarding the 32-year-old man, the Prosecutor’s Office said the man claimed to be a “spiritualist.”  While in the San José de Sucre and San Fernando neighbourhoods in 2022, he said he was “freeing adolescent girls from diabolical spirits and protecting them with prayers from any act of evil,” and had to touch the private parts of two female girls under 16 years old to remove the spirits.

In the case of the 48-year-old man, the Prosecutor’s Office said that between June 2021 and February 2022, he repeatedly sexually harassed and performed sexual acts on the 11-year-old cousin of his romantic partner in the Santa María neighbourhood. He also threatened her.

The 11-year-old suffered depression and anxiety as a result of the experience. The sexual abuse was discovered after changes in her behaviour were noticed.

The Prosecutor’s Office published the information out of general public interest.
