Continuing a new format first used this year, the annual BVI Food Fete will be held throughout 2025 with culinary events for residents and visitors alike on all four main islands.
During a media event on Friday morning at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park, BVI Tourist Board Director Clive McCoy described the fete as a “gateway inviting the world” to sample the Virgin Islands’ flavours.
“It’s a showcase of our destination — a testament to the warmth of our hospitality and the celebration of our culinary heritage,” he said.
JVD and Virgin Gorda
The 2025 culinary series will kick off on Valentine’s Day at Jost Lime & Dine on Jost Van Dyke.
After that, visitors from Tortola will also have more opportunity to experience the sister island’s cuisine every Saturday and Sunday through March 16, when the ferry schedule will include an additional evening trip back to West End, BVITB Event Coordinator Dirk Walters announced.
“And of course, once you make your reservations for [a] specific restaurant, you’ll get that discounted rate to travel on the ferry,” Mr. Walters added. “So stay tuned for that.”
Celebrations will continue on March 22 on Virgin Gorda.
“You can come and get all your samples,” Mr. Walters said. “We’ll be running a special on the ferry going up and providing some transportation so you can get to the Sugar Works at Nail Bay. And we have live entertainment — some of the best entertainment, food and ambiances in the entire Virgin Islands.”
‘Restaurant Week’
The summer will feature “Restaurant Week” from June 28 to July 5.
“This is going to be a way for persons to experience dining with some of the most upscale restaurants to some of the hidden gems where you’ll be able to get special rates on gourmet dining,” Mr. Walters announced.
Food Fete 2025 will end with the annual Anegada Lobster Festival from Nov. 28 through Nov. 30.
That weekend event, Mr. Walters said, has become “basically as large as our Emancipation Festival.”
Celebrating
During the Friday morning launch, attendees sampled traditional VI dishes prepared by the Taste the BVI restaurant at the pier park.
“Let’s celebrate our food, our culture and our unity,” Mr. McCoy said. “When we come together over a meal, we’re creating memories, fostering understanding, and building a stronger, more vibrant British Virgin Islands.”
