Estate Glynn Shooting Claims Life of 45-Year-Old Man, VIPD Seeks Public Help
ST. CROIX — A man was found dead in Estate Glynn on Friday morning, following reports of gunfire in the area, the V.I. Police Department has announced. The VIPD has launched an investigation and is urging the public to assist with information that could aid the case.
According to the report, at approximately 5:22 a.m. Friday, the VIPD’s 911 Emergency Call Center was alerted by the ShotSpotter gunfire detection system about shots fired near The Crab Queen in Estate Glynn. Officers were dispatched to the scene and conducted a search but initially found no evidence.
Later that morning, at 8:44 a.m., a concerned citizen reported seeing a man lying in an adjacent vacant lot near The Crab Queen. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Hispanic male with apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified on-site by his next of kin as 45-year-old Rey Enrique Romero.
