Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. (“CUC”) announced in a press release yesterday, Friday, April 26, 2024, that they received the Green Diamond Award from Cadwell, Inc., a ”landfill solutions, recycling and export/import” company with headquarters in Pompano Beach, Florida.
According to CUC, the Green Diamond Award recognises CUC’s “outstanding leadership and commitment to environmental conservation.”
CUC noted that in partnership with Cadwell, CUC “successfully filled forty-eight 20-foot containers, sixty-eight 40-foot containers and five 40-foot flat racks with recyclable materials since 2019.”
“This collaboration has diverted significant amounts of material from landfills, contributing to a more sustainable future,” CUC added.
Reportedly, CUC successfully recycled “an impressive 2,784,712 pounds of scrap metal, cable and transformers,” an accomplishment facilitated through the partnership with Cadwell, CUC’s leadership and CUC’s Materials Management Team.
On Cadwell’s website, Chad Powell, CUC’s Manager of Materials Management, commented on CUC’s past achievements working with Cadwell.

In yesterday’s CUC press release, Powell added, “This accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication, hard work, and collaboration of our incredible team.”
In addition to CUC, it appears that Cadwell has done work with the Cayman Islands Government.
