Governor Albert Bryan Jr. is inviting families throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands to usher in the holiday season at this year’s Governor’s Children’s Christmas Parties, a series of free community celebrations scheduled for St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. The events, held annually, offer children and families an evening of entertainment, holiday cheer, and engagement with government agencies.

The announcement was made during Monday afternoon’s Government House weekly press briefing, where Communications Director Richard Motta outlined the dates and locations for the 2025 festivities. He was joined at the briefing by Virgin Islands Police Department St. Croix District Chief of Police Uston Cornelius and Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency Director Daryl Jaschen, who provided updates on public safety and recent United States military visits to the territory.

Motta said the Governor’s Children’s Christmas Parties will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

  • St. Thomas – Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Havensight Mall
  • St. John – Thursday, Dec. 11, at Franklin A. Powell Sr. Park
  • St. Croix – Monday, Dec. 15, at Government House in Christiansted

The celebrations, Motta noted, have long been a treasured tradition that brings families together for music, activities, and the spirit of the Christmas season. Children from newborn to age 12 can enjoy toys, treats, and a variety of holiday-themed attractions. Government of the Virgin Islands agencies will also be present to interact with attendees and share information. Santa Claus will be on hand at each event to greet children.

All giveaways will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last. Eligible children must be present to receive a gift.

“Christmas is a magical time for our young people, and these celebrations give families a chance to share in the joy and excitement of the holidays together,” Motta said on behalf of Governor Bryan. “The governor looks forward to welcoming children and parents on all three islands as we light up our streets, our neighborhoods and the hearts of our community.”

Motta encouraged residents to arrive early, participate in the full program, and take the opportunity to enjoy the evening with neighbors, local performers, and government agencies in what he described as a safe and festive environment.
