Belize and the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) will welcome delegates from across the region, when the DFC hosts the 57th annual General Assembly of the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE) next year. Belize was officially selected as the host country for this prestigious regional event at the 56th General Assembly (ALIDE) held in Asunción, Paraguay, last Friday, May 22.
It will be Belize’s first time to host the conference, which will bring together more than 200 top-level executives and representatives from leading development banks, commercial financial institutions, multilateral agencies, and international financial organizations from across Central and South America, the Caribbean, and the wider Western Hemisphere.
Belize’s selection to host the ALIDE General Assembly presents a significant opportunity for Belize to showcase its vibrant culture, warm hospitality, investment potential, and world-renowned natural attractions to an influential international audience of financial leaders and development partners.
This premier gathering of the region’s leaders will serve as a platform for high-level dialogue on sustainable development, financing, regional cooperation, climate resilience, digital transformation, innovation, and strategic collaboration for inclusive economic growth. Their choice of Belize as host reflects the growing confidence in the country’s role within the regional financial and development landscape.
The event should also generate significant exposure for the country, while supporting tourism, business networking, and international partnerships.
The DFC reaffirms Belize’s commitment to advancing sustainable development and regional collaboration.
