My Brother’s Workshop Raises Over $200,000 During Giving Season, Launches New Programs

My Brother’s Workshop (MBW), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has announced the success of its #GivingTuesday campaign and ongoing fundraising efforts, which have collectively raised over $207,000 this giving season. The funds will support MBW’s mission of providing mentoring, mental health counseling, education, paid training, and job placement to local youth.

On #GivingTuesday, held on November 28, MBW raised $123,835.70 thanks to the generosity of over 100 supporters. The organization benefited from several matching pledges, including a $40,000 match from Dick and Lynnae Kotz and a $20,000 match from IPB & ICMC. These initial contributions were further amplified by a $10,000 match pledge from 340WW and an additional $4,000 match from Ty and Bonnie Troutman.

MBW has also announced that 340WW and the Troutmans will match up to $11,992 in donations received until Friday, December 13, doubling the impact of contributions during this time.

In addition to its #GivingTuesday success, MBW raised $83,974.88 to support its new Sewing and Art Program, which is set to launch in January. This initiative aims to provide students with creative and vocational training opportunities. The Foxwynd Foundation pledged to match $71,750 in funds for the program, inspiring donors to exceed the target.

With a total of $207,810.58 raised so far this giving season, MBW is working toward its year-end fundraising goal of $350,000. Contributions from the community are vital to the organization’s ability to enroll new students and expand its programs.

To thank its supporters, MBW hosted a reception on #GivingTuesday, where community members and donors gathered to celebrate the organization’s achievements and future initiatives. MBW Executive Director Scott Bradley expressed gratitude to all donors, emphasizing that their support enables the organization to continue providing hope, healing, and purpose to Virgin Islands youth.

Donations to MBW’s programs, including the Sewing and Art Program, can be made online. Contributions received by December 13 will be eligible for the 340WW and Troutman matching pledge.
