The Cabinet met on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the Cabinet Conference Room of the Government Administration Building.

Ms. Reshma Sharma acted for the Hon Attorney General, all other Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present.

At this meeting Cabinet:

Confirmed approval granted by circulation on 6th June 2024In accordance with section 9(5) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision) (“the Act”), bring forward CI$829,000 from EA 9 – Land Purchase Gazetted Claims 2025 budget to the 2024 budgetIn accordance with section 11(5) of the Act to increase EA 9 – Land Purchases Gazetted Claims by CI$671,000 The purchase of Block 27D Parcel 37; and the lease of Block 27D Parcel 37Confirmed approval granted by circulation on 6th June 2024 in accordance with section 11(5) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision) to increase OE 150 – Repairs to Parliament Building by $234,000 and increase EI 88 – Equity Injection to Parliament by $8,000;Advised the Governor to dispose of Block 11C Parcel 70 in return for Block 11C Parcel 3;Approved the extension of the International Convention of Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Cooperation to the Cayman Islands and Membership of the International Oil Pollution Compensation Supplementary Fund for the Cayman Islands;Reviewed and noted the Ministry of Tourism and Port’s Annual Report and Audited Financial Statement for the period ending 31st December 2023 and authorised the Hon Minister to table the document in ParliamentReviewed and noted the 2022-2023 Annual Report of the Anti-Corruption Commission and authorised the Hon Attorney General to table in Parliament;Reviewed and noted the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Heritage’s Annual Report for the 12 months ended 31st December 2023; andNoted the Cayman Islands Tourism Statistics – First Quarter of 2024.
