The Ralph T. O’Neal memorial that was promised for Virgin Gorda has moved from a vision to a tangible plan as Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration Hon. Vincent Wheatley announced that plans have commenced to make a park in VG that would be in the departed BVI Leader’s honour.

Mention of a memorial in the Ninth District where Hon. O’Neal represented for decades was made by Hon. Wheatley last year during a special sitting held in the House of Assembly on 3 December in tribute to Member Emeritus Hon. O’Neal.

Now the plan is being formulated to have the Park which will be created soon in Virgin Gorda. “I always say we must give honor where honor is due and we must do what we can to memoralize our heroes our stalwarts.  Currently I’ve engaged OBM to design some parks. One of the first parks would be in Virgin Gorda the R T O’Neal Memorial Park.”
