MP Rankine greets East End athlete, Sierrah Broadbelt | Loop Cayman Islands

On the afternoon of April 22, East End MP, Mr Isaac Rankine and members of the East End community welcomed young swimmer, Sierrah Broadbelt along with other athletes following their participation in the CARIFTA events held in Barbados.

Sierrah, a student of Cayman Prep and High School, received silver in the 200m IM and gold in the 200m Butterfly final. Sierrah also broke a national record in the Girls 13-14 100 metre Fly of 1:04.80 in which she received Silver.

The Cayman relay team of Sofia Bonati, Sierrah Broadbelt, Teagan Nash and Lila Higgo won a silver medal in the 4 x 200 Freestyle relay.

In the 4x100m Medley the 13-14-year-old quartet of Lila Higgo, Brianna Fischetti, Sierrah Broadbelt, and Sofia Bonati held off strong challenges to win Gold.

Earlier in the month, Sierrah was one of four swimmers who were nominated by their club coaches to represent all of Cayman’s swimmers in the Queen’s 16th Baron Relay as it passed through the Cayman Islands on its way to the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

I want to once again congratulate her on her accomplishments and the East End community remains your biggest supporters second only to her loving, caring and dedicated parents.

I am sure that they can attest that Sierrah’s hardwork and commitment are now coming to fruition.

Sierrah was also welcomed to her district with a new billboard placed just at the entrance of East End.
