Man arrested following wounding incident in Cayman Brac | Loop Cayman Islands

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) reported that, shortly after 8:00pm on Monday, June 20, officers responded to a report of a wounding incident at an address on in Cayman Brac.

According to the RCIPS, it was reported that a man and woman known to each other had been involved in an altercation, during which the man allegedly brandished a knife and cut the woman on her face. The man left the location prior to the arrival of officers.

Emergency services attended and the woman was transported to the Faith Hospital by ambulance for treatment and subsequently discharged.

On Wednesday, June 22, officers arrested the man, age 53 of Cayman Brac, on suspicion of wounding, threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon, causing fear or provocation of violence, and breach of a probation order.

The man was scheduled to appear in court today, June 23, in relation to these offences.
