Public Health has released COVID-19 figures for April 6, revealing that there are 628 estimated active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands, which amounts to less than 0.9 per cent of the population.

This is a significant decline from the peak of the Omicron surge when percent positive rates were sometimes coming in as high as 25 per cent of tests conducted and as high as 6-7 per cent of the population being active for the virus at a given time.

Positive cases reported to Public Health during this period are currently as follows:

Monday 04/04/2022 58
Tuesday 05/04/2022 41

The 7-day rolling average for April 6 is 44.

Three patients are currently hospitalised for COVID related causes and of these, two are unvaccinated.

The Sister Islands also noted four new cases since their last report, bringing total cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 670.
