Guyana President Swears In New Election Commish. Member


CaribWorldNews, GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Weds. Mar. 18, 2009: Guyana President Bharrat Jagdeo has sworn in a new member of the Guyana Elections Commission.

Charles Corbin was sworn in to the post Tuesday. Corbin possesses a Sociology Degree and a Masters in Organization Psychology, and has been practicing in organizational development.

Corbin was a nominee to the Technical Monitoring Panel which represented the opposition parties during the 2006 elections.

He was also a part of the Boundaries Commission that was involved in establishing the current regional system and at present he is serving as the vice-president of the Guyana Olympic Association.
