Caymanian icon, Ethel Ebanks, affectionately known as “Auntie”, celebrated her 104th birthday on April 21.

Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officers in West Bay paid a visit to “Ms Ethel” to help her celebrate her 104th birthday in style.

Ms. Ethel spoke to the officers about her past experiences and shared some laughs and some birthday cake with them.

This is their second year celebrating with her and they hope to continue doing so every year.

The retired seamstress and homemaker is an icon in the Cayman community. She was head maid at the La Fontaine hotel on West Bay Road and worked in a shoe shop before she became a seamstress.

Loop Cayman joins with the rest of the community in the Cayman Islands in wishing Ms Ethel a happy and healthy birthday.
