Over the weekend, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard reported the results of their search for three missing persons.

The latest is that, as of last night, April 24, the Coast Guard located two life-vests and other items which they recovered from the mangroves in the vicinity of Uncle Bob Road, West Bay. Enquiries are ongoing by the RCIPS to confirm if these items are connected to the male that was recovered from the ocean and his three companions who have been missing since Friday, April 22, 2022.

According to the Coast Guard, the joint search operations with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) included the North Sound and West Bay, which, at times, were suspended due to rough sea conditions. The bad weather conditions also made it difficult for private vessels to assist the Coast Guard in the joint search, especially due to the fact that there was a small craft warning in effect over the weekend.

The Coast Guard is expected to resume their search activities today, April 25.
