Cayman women to play in CONCACAF W qualifiers next week | Loop Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands Football Association has announced two upcoming CONCACAF W Qualifiers that the Cayman Islands women’s football team will participate in next week.

The first match will be on April 6 at 4pm at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium in Grenada where the Cayman Islands football team will go up against Grenada.

The next game will be on April 9 at 4pm at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in Cayman where the Cayman Islands will play Jamaica.

The Cayman Islands are playing in Group C which includes Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Grenada and Bermuda, with Jamaica and Dominican Republic looking like the frontrunners at the moment based on the number of matches won to date.

The CONCACAF W Qualifiers will decide the participating teams of the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship in July.

The 2022 CONCACAF W Championship serves as the CONCACAF qualifiers to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, as well as for the football tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics in France

The qualifying matches are currently taking place in February and April 2022.
