Buju Banton Lawyers Want Gun Charges Dropped


CaribWorldNews, MIAMI, FL, Fri. Nov. 19, 2010: Now that reggae star Buju Banton is out of jail, his lawyers have turned their attention to pushing for the gun charge against him to be dropped.

Banton`s attorney, David Oscar Markus, this week filed a motion in court, asking a judge to free him of the gun charge. 

Banton, born Mark Anthony Myrie, is set to be retried on charges of drug conspiracy and possession of a firearm next February after his first trial ended after jurors failed to agree on a verdict.

The court is expected to rule on the matter shortly.
