Thirteen police officers were recently promoted after passing every stage of last year’s promotional exercise process, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton stated on Monday.

“The organisation continues to strengthen its human resources through training and fill vacancies internally with those who qualify and meet the challenge,” said Police Commissioner Mark Collins.

“This exercise makes way for other officers to move up the rank.”

Eight officers were promoted to the rank of sergeant: Darren Malone, Kennedy Emmanuel, Andy Lawrence, Jerome Padmore, Carlton Saunders, Kishon Leslie, Terry Humphrey, and Joevenne Webbe.

Sylise Vanterpool was reinstated to sergeant, Ms. Drayton added.

Additionally, Jumo Shortte, Kendolph Bobb, Kenrick Davis and Lesroy Simmons were promoted to the rank of inspector, and Israel Sergeant was promoted to chief inspector, Ms. Drayton stated.

“Promotions and confirmations of officers are completed after a series of evaluations to include an application, a written and competency exam, and an interview process,” she added.
